Origin

Calocedar is found in the coastal mountainous regions of western North America, stretching from California to Oregon and south-western British Columbia. It is found mainly in mixed forests, often in association with redwoods, firs and pines. The calocedar was introduced to Europe in the 19th century and is valued as an ornamental tree for its majestic appearance and evergreen foliage.
