California redwoods - Sequoia sempervirens

Description

Its trunk is massive, reaching up to several metres in diameter, and its thick, fibrous bark is reddish. Its branches are covered with dark green needles that persist throughout the year, giving it an imposing, majestic appearance. Evergreen sequoia is a highly prized species for decorating parks and gardens, as well as for producing high-quality timber. Because of its size and longevity, the evergreen redwood is often seen as a symbol of strength, resilience and longevity.

Origin

The evergreen sequoia, or giant evergreen, is a species of giant tree belonging to the Cupressaceae family. Native to the west coast of the United States, particularly California and Oregon, it is known for its impressive size and exceptional longevity. The evergreen sequoia can reach heights of over 100 metres and live for more than 3,000 years.
