Description

Large tree: The Glandular Ailante is characterised by its rapid growth and impressive size. It can reach 30 metres in height with a similar spread, providing dense shade that is much appreciated in summer. Foliage: Deciduous, with large pinnate leaves (up to 60 cm long) that give off an unpleasant odour, especially when crumpled. Flowers: Small and greenish, they are grouped in panicles and appear in June-July. Fruits: These are winged samaras that are easily dispersed by the wind, contributing to the rapid spread of the species. Bark: Greyish with cracks and prominent lenticels. Wood: Clear and soft, it has no particular commercial use.
