Large-leaved lime - Tilia platyphyllos

Description

The large-leaved lime, also known as woolly lime, is a majestic tree native to Europe. It can reach heights of 30 to 40 metres and is distinguished by its large, heart-shaped leaves, up to 10 cm long. The leaves are dark green above and whitish below, giving them a silvery appearance. In summer, the tree produces small, fragrant yellow flowers that attract bees and butterflies. The large-leaved lime is often planted in parks and gardens for its dense foliage and rapid growth. It is also used in phytotherapy for its soothing and relaxing properties.
